National Student Convention 2017

SAEINDIA Collegiate Club of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in association with SAEINDIA Northern Section organized National Student Convention on 30th March 2017 More than 350 students and faculty attended the guest lectures by experts.
The event in the convention was Project Competition, Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation and Guest lectures by Industrial Experts.
Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K. Prasad, Principal, DCE welcomed the Chief Guest Mr. Anup Kacker, Executive Director from SAE NIS and experts from the industry Mr. Shailendra Deopa, Manager at Maruti Suzuki India Limited and Mr. Sandeep Sharma, DGM - Technology at UNO MINDA.
The session was started with Saraswati Vandana followed by welcome speech by Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K. Prasad. Mr. Anup Kacker delivered motivational talk on four success mantras: knowledge attitude skills habits (KASH). Then Mr. Shailendra Deopa delivered technical lecture on HVAC systems in cars and Mr. Sandeep Sharma talked on Product Development. The session was very informative and motivating to the students.
The first event in the convention was project competition. The projects covered different aspects of Construction, Transportation, Automation, Solar Energy Projects, Home Automation, Swatch Bharat Sevak and Electricity Monitoring Devices etc. from Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science & Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The project competition was very informative and motivating to the other participants.
Next event was poster presentation. In this event posters were prepared by the students from the field of construction, power generation, materials, automobile engineering. The presenters were appreciated by the judges.
60 papers were received out of which 28 papers were selected for presentation in the convention. The papers included important topics such as IOTs, smart building, automations, Android applications, etc. from different branches.
Winners from the three categories of the convention: Paper presentation, Poster presentation and Project competition were awarded cash prizes sponsored by SAE India. First, Second and Third winners were given cheque of Rs. 5,000/-, Rs. 3,000/- and Rs. 2,000/- respectively for all the three categories. After prize distribution, the chief guest and experts from industries were presented Memento by Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K. Prasad, Principal.
Prof. Anil Kumar Gillawat, Convener of SAE National Student Convention, delivered vote of thanks. National Anthem was sung in the end of the event.
The convention was very informative and knowledgeable for the participants.
